OUTRIDE: Rally Rampage – DeWildt, Gauteng, South Africa 2021
This outride is limited to technical small calibre bikes referred to as Advenduro bike. It is a tough outride in the Limpopo region of Gauteng in South Africa.
This is not a guided event but parties can team up in smaller groups and guide themselves through this full-day technical outride.
Before I get into the loose agenda and itinerary, I’d like to confirm that this is a social fun ride and not a led ride. If even half of the people rock up at either of the two starting points its still a big group and if we’re to try and treat the ride as a must stay together type affair it’s going to be a very long day thanks to the rubber band effect that happens with bike groups.
Eugene: Natural to assume that we’ll see the usual riding buddies team up etc. but for the most part everyone will navigate themselves at their own pace 🤙🏻
1) The way @Eugene Beetge and I saw it is that there are primarily two groups, one from JHB and one from PTA/Centurion side. Thus two-morning start points, one being the Broadacres BP filling station on Cedar Road and the other the Shell Filling station in Laezonia (Centurion)
2) Group one departing from Broadacres BP will do so at 06H30 sharp and meet up with group two at Laezonia Shell, 07h00 for 07h15.
3) Those with limited range on 500’s etc. small tanks, I’d suggest topping up at Caltex Xanadu filling station Hartbeespoort. Next fuel station thereafter is in Jericho before getting to Jericho Rock, more or less the half waypoint.
4) rendezvous points other than the two starting point filling stations will be Mamma’s Shabeen and Jericho Rock. I reckon we’ll be leapfrogging along the way with guys having smoke breaks or comfort 💩 breaks.
Just restating the plan for those new to the group
